Ronald Gene Perry of Ashland left this world to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Ron, 84, was a retired APD police officer, a retiree from the State of Ky Pre-Trial Release Services, among numerous other jobs he performed in his life. He was a lecturer for degrees at the Poage Lodge #32 F & AM, he was involved in the York Rite, Ashland Commander #28, Apperson Chapter #81, and Everett Council #65. He was USA 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Free Mason. He was a member of the El Hasa Shriners where he was a part of the AAonms of Ashland, he was a member of the clown unit, and Past President. He was a service officer and life member of the American Legion Post 76. He was the Assistant Director for 28 years for the American Legion Boy State. He was a life member voiture no. 758. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #892 for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the investigating community for the Eagles Lodge #2329. He was past president and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police #3. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifleman’s Association. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 15018. He was a lifetime member of the Military Order of Cootie – Ruptent #2. He was a member of the investigation community for the Elks Lodge #350 for 40 years. And a member of the Anvets Post 108 for 10 years. He attended Grace Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by Pope Perry, Bertie Stringer, Phyllis Perry, Jean Perry, and Jim Stringer. He is survived by his wife Janice Sue Chaffin Perry, a son Ronnie (Ruth) Perry II, a daughter Veronica (Fred) Nunely and a second son Lindsey (Emily) Perry of FL, three sisters Donna Vee Griffith and her daughter Debbie, Susie Conly her son James Allen and daughter Cindy, and Sandy Price and her son John Robert, daughter Jamie and son Tyler, three grandchildren Fred, Greg, and Charlotte, and several great-grandchildren. Services for Ron will be Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 11 A.M. at Grace Baptist Church in Flatwoods, Ky with Rev. Marvin Boggs officiating with burial to follow in Ky Veterans Cemetery North East. Friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. Ron will also lie in state at the church one hour before service time Thursday.
