Richard A. Henderson, 79, of Greenup, Ky passed away in his home Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born January 17, 1947 a son of the late Arthur Allen Henderson and Reccie Grubb Henderson Fowler. Richard was a laborer with Tecumseh Products. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Ashland and the VFW in Ironton. He was also a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Flatwoods, Ky. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son-in-law Clifford Blevins and five brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Janet Smith Henderson, five children Shane Allen (Sonya) Henderson, Joshua David (Misty) Henderson, Michelle Renee Blevins, Angie Babcock, and Ricky Jackson, five grandchildren Brittany Nicole Henderson, Myka Dawn Henderson, Izaiah Henderson, Kauna Blevins, and Lyla Henderson, several great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a brother Larry (Cathy) Henderson, and two sisters Jenny (Calvin) Whitis and Tammy (Dennis) Gumbert. Services for Richard will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland by Rev. Danny Brown with burial to follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before service time Wednesday. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Henderson.
