Phyllis Irene Johnson, 80, of Ashland, Ky died Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at her home. She was born November 27, 1945, a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Hall Blanton. She was a homemaker in her own home and a member of Tunnell Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by a son Charles Johnson, two grandchildren Christina Johnson and Tyler Johnson, a sister and her husband Rosemary (Ronald) Blevins, a brother Larry Sparks, and a brother-in-law Danny Terry. She is survived by her husband Charles Johnson, three children Sherry (Jerry) Prince, Charlie E. (Heather) Johnson, and James R. Johnson, 4 grandchildren Todd (Alisha) Rye, Fisher (Destiny) Johnson, Tyler Ray, and Kendell Purdue, 5 great-grandchildren Braylon Downey, Ava Downey, Everlee Johnson, Harley Johnson, and Lucas Bustetter, a sister Judy Terry, and 3 brothers James Bowling, Mike (Shelia) Bowling, and Randy (Pam) Bowling. Services for Phyllis will be held Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. by Brother Charlie Johnson at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland. Her committal service will be held Monday, October 26, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. in Belva Johnson Cemetery in Virgie, Ky. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before service time Sunday. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Johnson.
