Kay Francis Hunter, 80, of Ashland, KY died Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. She was born June 20, 1944 in Ashland, Ky a daughter of the late Charles H. and Mary Opal McKee Jauchinus. She was a surgical tech at Kings Daughters Medical Center and was a member of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Christian Church. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Kenneth “Kenny” Hunter. She is survived by her two children Charles (Belinda) Roberts of Ashland, Ky and Margaret (Bill) Pancake of Coal Grove, Oh, three grandchildren Kevin (Sam) Pennington, Katelyn (Joe) Gillispie, and Taylor (Ryan) Rankin, and five great-grandchildren Chase Gillispie, Jaylynn Gillispie, Ryker Gillispie, Walker Rankin, and Korie Pennington. Funeral services for Kay will be conducted Monday, October 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Orthodox Christian Church in Huntington, WV by V. Rev. Father John Dixon with burial to follow in Junior O.U.A.M. Cemetery in Olive Hill, Ky. Friends may call at the Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
