Josephine Sizemore Shelton Owsley, 89, of Ashland, Ky died Sunday, March 30, 2025 at her home in Ashland. She was born July 5, 1935 in Floyd Co., Ky a daughter of the late Hurley and Manda Mosley Sizemore. She was a homemaker in her own home. She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband Eugene Owsley, her companion Charles Penix, a daughter Patricia Lynn Shelton Couch, a brother Alger Sizemore, and two sisters Norma Jean Sizemore Blackburn and Fannie L. Sizemore Walters. She is survived by a daughter Wanda Lea Shelton Adkins of Ashland, Ky, a brother Jackie Sizemore of Lexington, Ky, a sister Joan Sizemore Short of Mt. Sterling, Ky, 9 grandchildren Bruce, Todd, Shae, Nikki, Timmy, Trina, Ken, Mike, and Scott, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Josephine’s funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland at 1:00 P.M. by Bro. Hurley Short and Bro. James Sizemore with entombment to follow in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 6 to 9 P.M. Lazear Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Owsley.
