“Jack” Allen Taylor, 85, of Ashland, died peacefully at Community Hospice on Sunday, July 25, 2021.
He was born February 25, 1936 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Roy and Hattie Taylor. He was preceded in death by his bride of over 50 years, Eloise; a son, William Taylor; and four siblings Karen Gonzales, Phyllis Natvik, Ken Taylor, and Roy Taylor.
Allen served in the Air Force and worked at National Mines before retiring from Armco Steel. He loved to play bluegrass music and served as a United Methodist minister.
He is survived by three children, Eva (David) Green, Robert (Jamie) Taylor, and Teresa (Nathan) Blevins; two sisters, Peggy Hankins and Connie Taylor; as well as 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grand children.
A funeral service will be held at Lazear Funeral Home on Friday, July 30th at 12:30pm with a graveside service immediately following at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home beginning at 10:30am.
The family has requested all those in attendance wear their masks for the safety of themselves and others.
